Kennebunkport's ONly Guided River Kayak Tour
The iconic Kennebunk River that gives our area its name also offers one of the most scenic paddling opportunities along the Southern Maine coast. A new discovery awaits around every bend of this winding river: from majestic wildlife – snowy egrets and great blue herons* hunt for their meals here – to remnants of the 18th- and 19th-century shipyards that once lined its shores.
Our tour begins at the historic Kennebunkport Grist Mill property and follows the tide upriver, past the greens of the Cape Arundel Golf Club and the picturesque Picnic Rock. After a few miles of paddling, we turn with the tide and make a leisurely journey back to Dock Square. By riding with the tide we never paddle against the current!
This is a terrific experience for first-time and veteran kayakers, alike. Your Registered Maine Kayak Guide will show you how to paddle properly, discuss points of interest, and help you spot wildlife along the way.

Parking: Please park in the free town lot at 30 North St., Kennebunkport, and walk over to the Grist Mill.

Please wear clothing appropriate for the weather and that you don't mind getting wet.

Check-in Details
Please arrive 15 minutes before the tour starts to get fitted for your kayak, paddle, and PFD.
Note: The tour is timed with the tide and leaves promptly at the designated time.
Health & Safety
As required by state law, this tour is lead by a Registered Maine Guide who is trained and certified to keep you safe on the water. You will be required to wear a personal flotation device (PFD) throughout the experience. We will not paddle into whitewater or strong ocean currents.
